IFS: Accessing data vintages and print-ready data tables (PDF)

To access data vintages, print-ready data tables, and methodological information for IFS please navigate to the "Archive" tab of IFS dataset portal by clicking on "Archive".

On the "Archive" tab, you will see four sections:
  1. Publications and Methodological Notes
This section is new and contains IFS yearbooks (2017 and 2018 editions), IFS monthly publications (from September 2018 onwards), as well as vintages of the IFS Introductory Notes (starting August 2018). A new vintage of the IFS Introductory Notes will be made available whenever a change to the text is necessary. The final vintage of the IFS Monthly (IFS January 2019) will be published in December 2018. From January 2019 onwards, only updates to Introductory Notes, metadata, and data will be published.
  2. Metadata
This section is new and contains IFS World and Country Notes as published with the IFS yearbooks (2017 and 2018 edition). A complete monthly vintage of these metadata will be published starting October 2018. These vintages will contain the comprehensive set of IFS world and country metadata as of the reference month instead of the cumulative updates that are published as part of the monthly print publication. (The cumulative updates only contain changes as compared to the latest yearbook metadata.)
  3. Query or Download Data
This section remains unchanged and provides access to IFS vintage databases through the Query and Bulk Download interfaces. Please note that this section is now located in the bottom half of the left side of the page.
  4. Country and World Tables in PDF Format
This new section on the right-hand side of the page consists of two lists of countries. The left list (below (5) in the screenshot) contains annual vintages of IFS country and world tables (as in the yearbooks), the right list (below (6) in the screenshot) contains monthly vintages of IFS country and world tables (as in the monthly publications).
-- To find the country and vintage you are looking for, you can either scroll and/or use the pagination, or you can use the country and vintage filters (5) for annual and (6) for monthly tables to select the countries and/or vintages to be displayed in the list.
-- To download and open a particular data table in PDF format, click on the respective country/vintage combination in the list.

The PDF files very closely resemble the printed world and country tables in the IFS Yearbook and IFS Monthly publication. The main difference is the presentation of the time periods in the header of the table. The new tables use the following notation: YYYYQQ and YYYYMMM, e.g. 2018Q1 and 2018M09, instead of the hierarchical display of years, quarters, and months in the print publications.
